  4.           1)  Place the Point & Shoot program disk in floppy drive A:
  5.  
  6.           2)  From the ROOT DIRECTORY of your hard disk, type:
  7.  
  8.                                A:INSTALL
  9.  
  10.           3)  Add "P&S" to the PATH command in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
  11.               If you don't have a PATH command in your AUTOEXEC.BAT
  12.               file, then make the following the first line in your
  13.               AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
  14.  
  15.                                PATH \P&S
  16.  
  17.           4)  Add the command  PS  (not  PAS ) to the END of your
  18.               AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
  19.  
  20.           5)  Make sure your CONFIG.SYS file contains the following lines:
  21.  
  22.                                FILES = 20
  23.                                BUFFERS = 20
  24.  
  25.           6)  Reboot your computer (Ctrl-Alt-Del).  Point & Shoot
  26.               should appear on your screen.  If any problems occur,
  27.               consult the documentation.

  30.        COMPATIBILITY PROBLEMS
  31.        ----------------------
  32.  
  33.        NOTE:  Compatibility problems have been reported with certain
  34.               models of computers.  Point & Shoot may not run
  35.               correctly on the following computers:
  36.  
  37.                 -  AT&T 6300 with CGA monitor
  38.                 -  HP Vectra with monochrome monitor (early models)
  39.                 -  Some Compaq models with EGA monochrome monitor (these
  40.                       may work correctly if you add a MODE MONO command to
  41.                       the PS.BAT file immediately before the PAS command)
  42.  
  43.                 - DO NOT use the screen blankers (ASB & ASBE) with IBM PS/2
  44.                       computers.  Some users have reported that PS/2's will
  45.                       hang if the screen blankers are used.
  46.  
  47.               If you experience problems with your computer, please report
  48.               the problem to AMST.

  51.           PRINTING THE DOCUMENTATION
  52.           --------------------------

  54.           To print the documentation, type the following from the DOS
  55.           prompt:

  57.                          COPY  PASDOC.TXT  PRN:

  59.           A second option to print the documentation is to use the File
  60.           Print command found in the Point & Shoot file commands.

  63.           RESTARTING POINT & SHOOT FROM DOS
  64.           ---------------------------------
  65.  
  66.           To restart Point & Shoot from any directory, type:  PS
  67.  
  68.           If the current drive is other than the drive containing Point &
  69.           Shoot, then change to the correct drive first.

  72.           UPDATES TO DOCUMENTATION
  73.           ------------------------
  74.  
  75.           An additional SETUP option is now included to allow the user
  76.           to enter a 50 character string to appear at the top of the screen
  77.           in place of the POINT & SHOOT program name.  This feature is
  78.           intended for those who wish to further personalize the program.
  79.           IN NO EVENT SHOULD THE USER USE TEXT THAT INFERS OTHER THAN
  80.           AMST COPYRIGHT OR OWNERSHIP.  I.E., DO NOT PUT A COPYRIGHT WITH
  81.           YOUR NAME IN THE TITLE!  AMST RESERVES ALL COPYRIGHT TO THIS
  82.           PROGRAM.

  84.           SETUP also includes options for quit prompting and EMS usage.
  85.  
  86.           Another SETUP option is now included to allow the user to change
  87.           the color of the mouse cursor.  The mouse cursor will appear in
  88.           the sample screen in the SETUP window.
  89.  
  90.           The user-defined menu entries may now be selected with a Ctrl-key
  91.           combination.  The first capital letter in the menu entry will be
  92.           used as the selection letter.  If the more than one menu entry
  93.           has the same selection letter, the first matching one is selected.

  95.           Up to 4 floppy drives now be selected with the DISKFORMAT command.
  96.           SETUP includes a list of floppy drive numbers that must be filled
  97.           in to select the correct floppy drive during format.  External
  98.           floppy drives are often numbers 2 or 3.
  99.
